Rain with thunder likely in 7 districts

The Meteorological Department has said that rain with thunder may occur in seven districts of the country today. The agency has also asked the river ports of these districts to display warning signals.

According to a weather forecast signed by meteorologist Omar Faruq, rain with thunder may occur over Dhaka, Faridpur, Noakhali, Comilla, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet regions by 1 pm today.

According to the forecast, gusty winds can blow at a speed of 45-60km per hour from the northwest of these areas. Besides, the river ports of these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

Moreover, the weather in other parts of the country may remain mainly dry, said the Meteorological Department. Day temperatures will rise slightly across the country, but night temperatures will remain almost unchanged.

Due to the influence of western low pressure, rainfall is occurring in different parts of the country. This condition may continue for another 1-2 days. Then the temperature may start to rise.
