Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rain or thundershowers in five divisions including Dhaka and Chattogram over 24 hours, starting from 9 am today. “Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Dhaka and Chattogram divisions,” said a BMD bulletin. Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country. Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the northern part and may rise slightly elsewhere in the country. A trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal in India to northwest Bay. Southwest monsoon has advanced upto Teknaf coast.

আজ দেশের পাঁচ বিভাগে বৃষ্টির পূর্বাভাস দিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর। বৃহস্পতিবার (৩০ মে) নিয়মিত বুলেটিনে সকাল ৯টা থেকে পরের ২৪ ঘণ্টার বার্তায় অধিদপ্তর জানিয়েছে, রংপুর, ময়মনসিংহ ও সিলেট বিভাগের কিছু কিছু জায়গায় এবং ঢাকা ও চট্টগ্রাম বিভাগের দু-এক জায়গায় অস্থায়ীভাবে দমকা হাওয়াসহ বৃষ্টি বা বজ্রসহ বৃষ্টি হতে পারে। এছাড়া দেশের অন্যান্য জায়গায় অস্থায়ীভাবে আংশিক মেঘলা আকাশসহ আবহাওয়া প্রধানত শুষ্ক থাকতে পারে বলে বুলেটিনে জানানো হয়। এদিকে, দেশের উত্তারাঞ্চলের দিন ও রাতের তাপমাত্রা সামান্য কমতে পেতে পারে এবং দেশের অন্যান্য জায়গায় তা সামান্য বৃদ্ধি পেতে পারে। সিনপটিক অবস্থা সম্পর্কে অধিদপ্তর বলেছে, পশ্চিমা লঘুচাপের বর্ধিতাংশ পশ্চিমবঙ্গ থেকে উত্তরপশ্চিম বঙ্গোপসাগর পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত রয়েছে। দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম মৌসুমি বায়ু টেকনাফ উপকূল পর্যন্ত অগ্রসর হয়েছে। দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম মৌসুমি বায়ু আরও অগ্রসর হওয়ার জন্য পরিস্থিতি অনুকূলে রয়েছে।
