Ramadan moon sighted in Bangladesh, fasting begins Tuesday
The crescent moon was sighted on Monday evening in the sky of Bangladesh. Therefore Ramadan will start in the country on Tuesday.
This information was revealed after the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee under the chairmanship of State Minister for Religion Faridul Haque Khan at Baitul Mukarram office of Islamic Foundation on Monday evening (March 11).
The first tarabi will be held tonight after Isha prayer. On this occasion, various preparatory works have already been completed in all the mosques of the country.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar during which Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food and drink. For devout Muslims, Ramadan is a month of moderation, self-purification and sacrifice. Adult Muslims fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
