Remittance flow increases after Eid
The flow of remittance did not increase before Eid-ul-Fitr this year, but it has increased after the Eid. According to the updated report of Bangladesh Bank released on Sunday (April 21), until April 19 of the current month, expatriates sent remittances worth $1.28 billion.
Banks are giving Tk 110 per dollar of expatriate income. As such, expatriates have sent Tk 14,096 crore in these 19 days. The daily average is Tk 742 crore.
If this rate continues in the remaining 11 days of the month, the remittance amount will exceed $2 billion at the end of the month.
Earlier, expatriates sent $210 million remittances in January this year, $216 million in February and $1996.8 million in March.
