Rishad and Nahid to return from Pakistan
Due to the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had expressed concern over two cricketers, Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain, who are currently playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Cricket Board issued a statement on Wednesday (May 7) saying that they were maintaining constant communication regarding the safety of these two players.
However, the situation has become more tense following India’s drone attack in Pakistan. It has been reported that Nahid and Rishad want to return home from Pakistan. Meanwhile, according to BCB sources, the Cricket Board is bringing back the two Bangladeshi cricketers who went to play in the PSL.
The BCB in a press release on Thursday (May 8) said that it is working closely with the PCB and the Bangladesh High Commission in Pakistan to ensure the cricketers feel safe and secure during their stay. Additionally, the BCB is coordinating with the concerned authorities to ensure that all arrangements for the players' departure from Pakistan are carried out timely and safely.
India’s attack has spread panic in Rawalpindi. As a result, the PSL match at Rawalpindi Stadium has been postponed. Foreign cricketers playing in the PSL are in fear. It has been reported that the PSL authorities have held meetings with Pakistan Cricket Board officials regarding the matter. Although there has been a proposal to shift the PSL matches from Lahore to Karachi, foreign players remain unconvinced. They want the remaining PSL matches to be held in the United Arab Emirates; otherwise, they will return to their respective countries.
