Quota reform movement

Road blockaded in Bogura, 4 injured in cocktail explosion

Protests and road blockades were held in Bogura as part of the quota reform movement on Tuesday (July 16).

At that time, four of the anti-quota agitators were injured in the cocktail attack.

On Tuesday (July 16) around 11:15am, 50-60 students started protesting in front of Bogura Government Azizul Haque College on Satmatha-Tinmatha road. They left the road after 20 minutes. Later some of the agitators were staying on the college campus. At that time, a cocktail was thrown at them injuring four people.

Those injured in the cocktail attack are Milan Sheikh, Tafsir, Mamun and Sumon, all students of Govt Azizul Haque College. Currently they are undergoing treatment at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital.

One of the injured Milan Sheikh said that it is not clear who threw the cocktail on them. However, they believe that the activists of the Chhatra League have carried out this attack.

However, district Chhatra League president Sajib Saha denied the allegation.

He said in the morning, it was learned that Jamaat-Shibir people were gathering on Azizul Haque College campus under the banner of quota reform movement. At that time the College Chhatra League was asked to take a position there. The cocktail explosion happened before they got there.
