Sacrificial animal waste will be cleaned within 24 hours: Mayor Taposh
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said the sacrificial animal waste will be cleaned within 24 hours. He also said that the waste of cattle markets in the capital will be cleaned within 72 hours.
The mayor made these comments while talking to the reporters after his visit to the National Eidgah ground on Wednesday (June 12).
Mayor Taposh said, "With sacrificial animals coming from across the country to be sold in the capital, the number of cattle markets is on the rise. Each market is equipped with a complaint center, and mobile courts are actively operating. Starting from the day before Eid-ul-Azha, all city corporation officials have been assigned central responsibilities for three days to oversee operations."
He said, "We are optimistic that the cattle markets will run smoothly, allowing the people of the capital to buy animals safely. There should be no trouble. However, if anyone faces any difficulty, they can report it to our control rooms at the markets and the central control room, and we will take immediate action."
Regarding the preparation of the National Eidgah, the DSCC Mayor said, "The National Eidgah is ready to host 35,000 worshippers for the Eid prayers. The Eid-ul-Azha congregation is scheduled for 7:30 in the morning."
"VIPs, including the president, members of the cabinet, and judges, will offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah. All necessary arrangements have been made, including provisions to prevent rain from disrupting the prayers. Separate arrangements have been made for women, ensuring that all worshippers can pray comfortably," he added.
