Saudia Airlines flight attendant held with 2kg gold

A crew member of Saudia Airlines was detained at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport along with 2 kilograms of gold on Tuesday.

The members of National Security Intelligence (NSI), Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) in a joint Rashid d held the cabin crew member Rokeya Khatun, 40.

APBn Additional Superintendent of Police Md Ziaul Haque confirmed.

He said the Saudia Airline flight (SV-804) landed in Dhaka at 10:00pm on Tuesday from Saudi Arabia's Riyadh. Acting on information, the law enforcers searched Rokeya and found 11 gold bars, eight gold bangles and a gold chain weighing around 1,979 grams from her possession.

A case has been filed against Rokeya under the Special Power Act with the Airport Police Station, the APBn official said.
