Schedule for 2nd phase of upazila parishad polls announced

The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for the second phase of 161 upazila parishad elections. 

The schedule was finalized in the Election Commission meeting on Monday (April 1) under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal.

After the meeting, EC Secretary Jahangir Alam announced the schedule.

According to the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers for the second phase of upazila elections is April 21. 

Nominations will be scrutinized on April 23. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 30. 

In the first phase, elections to 152 upazila parishads will be held on May 8.
