Shah Rukh Khan death threat accused detained
A man identified as Mohammad Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has been arrested for allegedly making a threatening call to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and demanding ₹50 lakh.
Faizan was detained after failing to comply with a summons from Mumbai Police.
He initially claimed his phone, used for the threat, had been stolen, filing a police report on November 2.
Authorities have charged him under sections related to extortion and criminal intimidation from the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The threat comes a year after Shah Rukh Khan, dubbed 'King Khan' by fans, received death threats following the success of his films 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan', prompting an upgrade to his Y+ security status.
This incident follows a similar pattern of threats faced by fellow actor Salman Khan, including recent threats allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding an apology or a hefty sum of ₹5 crore related to a past poaching incident.
