Shopkeeper stabbed to death over dispute on selling cigarette
A shopkeeper has been stabbed to death after a dispute over selling cigarettes in Titas of Cumilla.
The deceased, Manik, 32, was stabbed reportedly by two siblings--Bahauddin and Jalaluddin.
Titas Police Station OC Kanchan Kanti Das confirmed the death.
He said police are investigating the matter. Soon, the accused will be captured.
The incident took place at Bhuiya Bari of Kananagar village of Upazila on Thursday afternoon.
According to Manik's wife, Bahauddin came to take cigarette from the shop on condition of paying later. As, there were no cigarettes at the shop that time, Manik refused him which ensued an argument between them. At one stage of arguments Bahauddin went home and returned with his brother Jalauddin.
Then, Jalaluddin grabbed Manik and his brother Bahauddin stabbed him.
Critically injured Manik was rescued and taken to the Titas Upazila Health Complex. Later, he died on his way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
