Siam now in Kolkata CID custody: DMP
Siam, a key suspect in the murder of Jhenaidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim Anar, has been detained by Kolkata's Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman disclosed this information during a press conference at the DMP media center in the capital on Friday (June 7).
He said, "Kolkata CID investigated the murder case and identified two suspects. One was brought from Nepal, while the other had already been arrested there."
In response to a question, he stated that the investigation occurs in the zone where the incident happened, as per established rules.
So far, five people have been arrested in connection with the murder of MP Anar, in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. Three are currently in Bangladesh, while the other two are in Kolkata.
Earlier, the MP traveled to India on May 12, apparently for treatment, but went missing in Kolkata the next day. On May 22, Indian and Bangladeshi officials announced that Anar had been murdered, but his body had not been found.
