Stand beside people instead of iftar party: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged people to stand by people with that money instead of spending excessively to organize iftar party.  She made this call in a cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister's office on Wednesday (March 13).

Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain informed this to reporters at a briefing at the Secretariat after the meeting.

He said the PM has made a request today, she personally has decided not to hold any iftar party. She said that those who are interested or who have the means should stand by the common people according to their means, should stand by the people to spend the iftar party money.

The cabinet secretary also said that the premier gave more clear instructions in the meeting.

Mahbub Hossain said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu had a dream about cooperatives. In the light of that dream, she gave instructions to the Agriculture Ministry and the Rural Development and Co-operative Division to build agricultural cooperatives.
