State Minister goes to visit 3 ME countries to expand labour market
State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Shofiqur Rahman Chowdhury left Dhaka on Friday (May 24) morning on a weeklong visit to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman to expand the labour market in the Middle East and solve temporary problems.
The state minister is scheduled to attend several meetings in Dubai during the visit. He will meet with members of the Business Council of Dubai (CIP) and is scheduled to hold a meeting with Bangladeshi expatriate workers in Dubai.
On Saturday (May 25), he will be present as the chief guest at the Remittance Award-2023 and attend a meeting with CIP of Dubai organized by the Bangladesh Embassy in the UAE.
On Sunday (May 27), Shofiqur Rahman will pay a courtesy call on Labour Minister of Qatar Labour Minister of Qatar Ali Bin Samikh Al Marri. On the same day, he will hold a meeting with Bangladeshi businessmen staying in Qatar. Besides, he will meet with Bangladesh workers and Bangladesh community leaders.
On May 30, Shofiqur Rahman will pay a courtesy call on Labour Minister of Oman Dr Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baawain. Besides, he will meet with Bangladeshi businessmen living in Oman. Additional Secretary to Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry Md Khairul Alam and State Minister's Private Secretary Mamunur Rahman will accompany him during the tour.The state minister is scheduled to return home on May 31.
