Stern action if extra fare charged during Eid journey: DMP

Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Munibur Rahman has warned that stern action will be taken against the bus owner and those concerned if extra fare is charged from the passengers during the Eid journey.

He made the warning from a press conference organised at DMP's media centre on Wednesday morning (June 21).

Munibur Rahman said, "Every bus terminal will have a surveillance team comprised of multiple organisations. The team will be responsible for monitoring the bus fare is being charged in compliance with the chart, ensuring no additional charges are levied, and conducting mobile courts when necessary."

"If complaints arise regarding unnecessary rent collection, immediate action will be taken," he added.
