Sumon-Tutul elected to lead Bangladesh Film Directors Association

Shaheen Sumon has been elected as President and Shahin Kabir Tutul as General Secretary of the Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association in its latest election.

The voting took place on Friday (May 9) at the Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The results were announced later that night by Chief Election Commissioner Abdul Latif.

Out of 391 registered voters, 259 cast their ballots. Shaheen Sumon, who served as General Secretary for the past two terms, received 166 votes to win the President's post. Shahin Kabir Tutul secured 180 votes to become the new General Secretary.

The newly elected committee will serve for a two-year term. Other elected members include, Vice President Abul Khair Bulbul, Deputy Secretary General Kabirul Islam Rana, Treasurer Simon Tariq, Publicity, Publications & Office Secretary Wazed Ali Bablu, International Affairs & IT Secretary Bandhan Biswas, Cultural Affairs & Sports Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Manik.

The Executive Members are Chotku Ahmed, Shahadat Hossain Liton, Polli Malek, Zakir Hossain Raju, Bazlur Rashed Chowdhury, Saidur Rahman Said, Habibul Islam Habib, Joy Sarkar, Gazi Mahbub, and Bulbul Biswas.
