The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court quashed the charges and legal proceedings in a money laundering case filed by the ACC against Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

A four-member bench led by Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed unanimously delivered the verdict around 9:30am on Wednesday, granting Yunus’s appeal against a previous High Court order that had rejected his petition to dismiss the case.

After the verdict, ACC lawyer Asif Hasan said, "The Appellate Division has granted the appeal filed by Professor Yunus and others against the High Court’s order. The High Court’s order that rejected their petition to cancel the case has been overturned. As a result, the case against Professor Yunus and others has been dismissed."

The hearing on the appeal filed by Professor Yunus and others against the High Court’s order, which had rejected their petition to cancel the proceedings, ended on March 19. On that day, the Appellate Division set April 23 for the verdict. Today (April 23), the highest court said in its verdict, “The appeal is allowed.”
