Tamim Iqbal, who was critically ill and hospitalized, has had a heart stent procedure. He is now in the Critical Care Unit (CCU).

Debashish Chowdhury, the head of the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) medical department, confirmed that Tamim suffered two heart attacks. However, his condition is now improving.

Tamim went to BKSP in Savar on Monday morning to play a Dhaka Premier League match. He also participated in the toss for the Mohammedan Sporting Club vs Shinepukur match. However, before going out to field, he felt severe chest pain and was taken to Fazilatunnesa Hospital in Savar.

The referee of the Mohammedan-Shinepukur match, Debabrata Pal, reported from the hospital that an angiogram revealed a blockage in Tamim's heart, and a stent was placed.

Earlier, a helicopter was arranged to bring Tamim to Dhaka, but due to his condition, he was unable to board. Instead, the decision was made to perform the stent procedure at Fazilatunnesa Hospital.
