Tareque Muhammad new Bangladeshi ambassador in the Netherlands
The government has decided to appoint the Bangladeshi High Commissioner in Kenya, Tareque Muhammad, as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to the Netherlands.
He will replace the current Ambassador Riaz Hamidullah, says a Foreign Ministry press release on Sunday (June 9).
Tareque Muhammad is an 18th batch officer of BCS (Foreign) cadre. Since February 2022, he has been serving as High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kenya. He is also serving as non-resident ambassador to Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia and Rwanda.
Diplomat Tareque Muhammad has held various posts in Bangladesh missions in Madrid, New Delhi, Kathmandu and Yangon. He was the Deputy Head of Bangladesh Mission in Yangon. He served as Consul General of Bangladesh in Los Angeles.
He is a professional diplomat with experience working as Director at the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Secretariat in Kathmandu.
He obtained an MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration of Dhaka University.
