Tarique Choyon honored with 'Best Bengali Award' in Kolkata

Md. Tariqul Islam Bhuiyan, widely known as Tarique Choyon, First Secretary (Press) at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, has received the prestigious 'Best Bengali Award 2025'.

The award was presented on Monday (April 14) during a special literary event organized by the International Literary Coordination Centre at the Nazrul Centenary Hall in Madhyamgram.

At the literary festival titled ‘Unveiling of the Largest Book of Poetry in Two Thousand Years and Special Honors Ceremony’, a monumental poetry collection was launched. During the event, the 'Best Bengali Award 2025' was presented to 10 distinguished individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Bengali language, literature, culture, and society.

Explaining the reason behind honoring Tarique Choyon, the organizers highlighted his remarkable diplomatic vision and valuable contribution to cultural exchange as the Press Secretary of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission. They praised his dedicated efforts and exemplary leadership in promoting Bangladeshi literature and culture on the international stage.

As a veteran journalist and seasoned diplomat, his wisdom, foresight, and dedication have set a stellar example of cultural collaboration between the two Bengals. In his capacity as First Secretary (Press), he has played a key role in strengthening bilateral relations while also promoting the pride and prestige of the Bengali language and culture on the global stage. His inspiring leadership, humanitarian spirit, and cultural sensitivity continue to be a beacon of inspiration.

The other recipients of the 'Best Bengali Award' include Surath Chakraborty, Tapan Bandyopadhyay, Rajib Sen, Dr. Chandrochur Goswami, Pradip Kumar Basu, Mallar Ghosh, Kartik Debnath, Subhas Singha Roy, and Prabir Kumar Biswas.
