Tasnim Zara, Senior Joint Member Secretary of the National Citizens' Party (NCP), has raised questions about how Sarjis Alam, the NCP's chief organizer for the Northern Region, managed a convoy of over 100 vehicles as he entered his home district of Panchagarh.

In a post on her Facebook account on Tuesday evening (March 25), she raised questions about how the convoy was funded and managed.

Tasnim Zara expressed hope that Sarjis Alam would provide an acceptable and clear explanation to the public, which would further strengthen the NCP's image.

She wrote, "As a political worker, from the perspective of the party's principles and transparency, the entry of such a large convoy into your home district has understandably raised some questions in the public's mind. Recently, you openly stated, ‘I actually have no money at the moment. I’m running on borrowed funds. That’s the reality. I don’t even have a wallet in my pocket.’ Your simple lifestyle had impressed us and made our struggle more acceptable to the public."

She continued, "But given that context, it’s natural for people to question how such a large-scale event was possible – how was it funded and managed? Our party has promised to build a new political culture based on transparency, honesty, and accountability, so it is our collective responsibility to provide clear and reliable answers to these questions. I hope you will seriously consider this and offer an acceptable and transparent explanation to the public. This will, I believe, further strengthen the party's image."

On Monday, Sarjis Alam traveled by plane from Dhaka to Syedpur, then took the road to Deviganj in Panchagarh. From there, he toured several areas of the district, including Boda, Panchagarh Sadar, Tetulia, and Atowari, in a convoy of over 100 vehicles. Sarjis Alam’s home is in the Atowari Upazila. Following his appointment to a key position in the new political party, his 'show of strength' on the way to his home has sparked political discussion and controversy.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also raised questions about the matter on Tuesday.
