Tax zone Narayanganj honored 21 best taxpayers

Tax zone Narayanganj awarded 21 best taxpayers for the tax year 2022-23. This honor was given in a function organized by Narayanganj Tax Zone at Narayanganj Chamber Building on Tuesday (December 12). NBR member and President of Tax Appellate Tribunal Md. Nazmul Karim was present as the chief guest on the occasion.

Morshed Sarwar Sohail, the senior vice president of Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry was present as a special guest. Tax Commissioner of Narayanganj Tax Region Sharmin Ferdausi presided over the event.

In the event, 21 best taxpayers in the categories of highest and longest income tax payers, highest income tax payers and young (below 40 years of age) categories of Narayanganj City Corporation, Narayanganj District and Munshiganj District in the fiscal year 2022-23 were awarded mementos and certificates.

In the event, Md. Nazmul Karim said, NBR has undertaken various activities to increase income tax collection by creating a tax-friendly environment. The Income Tax Act has been enacted in Bengali for the taxpayers to understand the various tax rules easily.

Md. Morshed Sarwar Sohail said, Narayanganj has many possibilities of income tax. If the transaction system is automated in Bangladesh like abroad, the income tax will increase manifold. If the government can provide special benefits when taxpayers are in trouble, then people will be more motivated to pay taxes.

President Sharmin Ferdowsi said, being honored as the best taxpayer is a matter of great pride. We at the Tax Department are also proud of those who received the award. Tax zone Narayanganj is showing regular success with the help of taxpayers.
