Teacher shoots medical student during viva exam

A teacher has reportedly opened fire on a student during the viva examination at Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical College Hospital in Sirajganj.

The injured student is--Tomal, a third year student of forensic department. The incident took place around 3pm on Monday when a viva examination was underway at a classroom of the medical college.

Sirajganj Police Super Ariful Rahman Mandol said police have heard about the incident. Further investigation is underway. Nothing can be said before investigation.

According to the general students, Medicine Department teacher Raihan Sharif shot Tomal on his right leg without any prior context, leaving the student injured.

Later, he was admitted to the hospital.

Protesting the incident, general students boycotted the classes. Additional police forces have been deployed to avert further untoward situation.
