Md Rahmat, a 13-year-old boy, has died from gunshot wounds after being caught in the crossfire of a shootout between two groups at the Geneva Camp in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.

The gunfire erupted during a clash between two groups around 5:30pm on Saturday (October 26).

Rahmat, the youngest son of barbershop worker Shamser Ali, succumbed to his injuries around 8:00am on Monday (October 28).

Confirming the matter, Chief of the DMCH Police Camp Inspector Md Faruk, said, "The body has been sent to the hospital's morgue for an autopsy."

Mohammad Murad, Rahmat's older brother, said, "Rahmat left home to fetch water when he was caught in the shootout, suffering critical injuries. He was first taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital before being transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital."

Concerns have been raised by local residents that weapons looted from police stations may be hidden within the Geneva Camp.
