Temperatures may drop over country in next 24 hours
The low-pressure over the Bay of Bengal has now turned into a deep low-pressure and remained over the same area. It may move further north-northeast and could intensify. As a result, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country including the southern part. Day and night temperatures will drop slightly across the country.
In the last 24 hours till 6 am on Monday, the highest rainfall was recorded 37mm at Maijdee Court. At this time, rainfall has been recorded in all the districts of Chattogram division. 2mm of rain was recorded in Dhaka.
"Maximum sustained wind speed is 50 km/h within 48 km of the low-pressure center, increasing to 60 km/h in gusty or gusty forms. Oceans are rough in the vicinity of low-pressure center. Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to hoist remote warning signal number 1," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.
Most of the areas of Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions; Some places of Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and one or two places of Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds temporarily. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the southern part of the country.
