Thanks to Election Commission
Despite various challenges at home and abroad, the Election Commission is thanked for conducting a peaceful and acceptable election. Successfully navigating these challenges, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal's leadership played a crucial role. Those who had doubts about the success of this election, including both domestic and international observers, have already acknowledged the credibility of the election process. This has put an end to the tensions and uncertainties that surrounded the country's politics during the election period.
The issue of political stability is the most crucial aspect of our national life. From 2001 to 2006, under the BNP-Jamaat alliance government, the country faced a series of bomb attacks and political assassinations, posing a significant threat to national security and political stability. However, with the sweeping victory of the grand alliance led by the Awami League on December 29, 2008, under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter, Sheikh Hasina, the country entered a new era of power.
Since then, Awami League has been in power for the past 15 years. During this period, the Awami League has led Bangladesh towards new heights of progress and prosperity. Unfortunately, the path chosen by BNP in 2001, which involved divisive politics and pushing the country backward through manipulative political means, continues to be a regrettable chapter. Despite efforts by opposition parties, including acts of violence and terrorism, the BNP has repeatedly failed to deviate from the path of flawed politics.
Once again, by boycotting the elections, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has prolonged the streak of mistakes. Simultaneously, the BNP-Jamaat alliance has learned from its past experience of divisive politics. The BNP's announcement of election boycott and resistance had raised some concerns; however, the current Election Commission, with its competence and resilience, has successfully dispelled those concerns by delivering a successful election. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government has consistently demonstrated, both in party and national elections, that fair and credible elections are possible.
Under the leadership of Bangabandhu in 1971, we achieved the map of an independent country through the glorious Liberation War. Again, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has moved forward in the path of economic progress, aligning with the modern world, and standing tall. Over the past 15 years, under the three consecutive terms of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government has established Digital Bangladesh. Now, a new chapter of success will begin on the path of a Smart Bangladesh.
