This is the victory of people: Sheikh Hasina

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Awami League's absolute victory in the 12th National Parliamentary elections is a victory of the people.

She came up with the remarks while exchanging greetings with local and foreign observers and journalists at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital today.

Sheikh Hasina said, "We have been able to set an example that elections can be free, fair and impartial. People have been able to exercise their right to vote. This is not just my victory, it is the people's victory."

"This election is a landmark event for the country's democracy. The communication system will be improved. After Digital Bangladesh, the aim is to build Smart Bangladesh. Not a single person in Bangladesh will remain poor. We will create employment for every person. Fundamental rights of people will be further guaranteed,” she added.
