This moment will `help America heal': Trump
Former President Donald Trump told his supporters early Wednesday that this moment will “help this country heal.”
"This is going to be a golden age for America," Trump proclaimed, setting an optimistic tone for his tenure. His victory speech was not just a thanksgiving gesture but a declaration of a bold vision for the country's future. By asserting that the win would be instrumental in 'making America great again,' Trump echoed his campaign's central theme, resonating with a significant portion of the American populace. His reference to specific states like North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin underscored the widespread support that led to his electoral success.
Donald Trump has used his speech to praise “vice-president elect” JD Vance. “He turned out to be a good choice,” Trump quipped.
Trump even shared the stage with the Ohio Senator and offered him a chance to speak to the crowd, describing him as a “feisty guy”.
“I think we just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America! Under Donald Trump’s leadership, we’re never going to stop fighting for you - for your dreams, for the future of your children.
“After the greatest political comeback in American history, we’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history under Donald Trump.”
According to CNN projections, Trump only needs three more electoral votes to win the presidency.
At a convention center in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump promised Americans that “every single day I will be fighting for you” and said he would usher in the “golden age of America.”
Trump was joined on stage by members of his family and his wife, Melania Trump, as well as his running mate, JD Vance, and House Speaker Mike Johnson.
