Three killed, including a Bangladeshi, in Malaysia gunfight
Three people, including a Bangladeshi, were killed in a gunfight in Malaysia. The incident took place at KM-17 of Pekan-Quenta Bypass on Wednesday morning.
Malaysian local newspaper 'The Star' reveals the matter. Among the deceased, one is from Bangladesh and others are from Vietnam. The police don’t reveal their identity, though.
The police suspect that the deceased are members of the Centro gang that has been involved in vandalizing various shops in the country, and more than Tk9 crore have been looted in various incidents.
Pahang police chief Com Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the gang refused to obey the police order and tried to escape. At one stage of the chase, they hit the police car. Later, when the police got out of the car to inspect it, several shots were fired at them. The police fired back in self-defense. All three of the gang members in the car died.
In a press conference on Tuesday, the police said, a Glock-17 pistol, seven bullets, and three pistol casings were recorded during the search. Besides, the police found drills and grinders, machetes, and iron hammers, which belonged to Bangladeshis.
