Thundershowers with 60 km/h wind likely to hit 9 districts
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain and thundershowers with a maximum speed of 60 km per hour over 9 districts of the country on Monday.
This information was revealed in a forecast given for the country's inland river ports till 6.00pm on Monday (April 8). Gusty winds may blow over Jashore, Kushtia, Faridpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali and Cumilla districts from west or north-west at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour. At this time there may be rain or thunder.
The river ports in these areas have been asked to hoist ‘Warning Signal No. 1’ due to the stormy weather.
"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Rangpur Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, said another Met office bulletin.
