Tigers face off India for final fine tune of T20 WC
Bangladesh will have their final chance to fine-tune their preparations for the T20 World Cup when they face India in their second and last warm-up game on Saturday at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
The match starts at 8.30 PM (Bangladesh Time).
The Tigers' first practice game against the USA was cancelled due to poor facility conditions caused by adverse weather in the area.
Before the warm-up fixtures, Bangladesh suffered a surprising 2-1 series loss to the USA, which likely impacted their morale. They were eager to regain confidence by defeating the USA in the first practice game, but the weather didn't allow it.
However, Bangladesh ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan was not fazed by team’s ignominious defeat to USA. Rather he said that Bangladesh still have the chance to do well in this World Cup, considering that they will get home-like advantage from both USA and West Indies, the two countries that will host the tournament.
“I think we’ll get a home-like pitch here in both USA and West Indies. We played in both places and when we earlier played in Florida we did well,” Shakib said in the Green Red Story of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
“The pitches in those two places are similar to what kind of pitch we got back at home. So I hope that we’ll get some advantage.”
India however will be without their star player Virat Kohli who skipped the match to get him fresh ahead of the tournament. India however came to the tournament after a grueling IPL tourney and the match is an opportunity for them to gel together well.
