Tigers are returning home after a disappointing campaign, as Bangladesh has been eliminated from the group stage of the ongoing Champions Trophy (CT).

Shanto and Co. are set to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11 pm tonight, (February 28).

Bangladesh began the Champions Trophy with a heavy defeat to India, where their top order faltered and failed to build a solid total. Although the bowlers fought hard with the small total, the batting failure continued in the next match, where they could not even reach 250 runs.

Bangladesh was supposed to face Pakistan in their final match of the tournament yesterday, but the toss was delayed due to rain. After waiting for about an hour and a half, the match was declared abandoned, giving both teams one point each.

With three matches played, Bangladesh finished the tournament with one point, having lost two matches, while one was abandoned. Despite this, they finished in third place in the points table, slightly ahead of Pakistan due to a better net run rate.

The cricketers, however, there won’t be much time for rest, as they are set to play in the upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
