The Bangladesh women’s cricket team suffered a 5-wicket defeat in the third and final T20 against the West Indies, enduring a series whitewash.

Having lost the first two matches, Bangladesh could not mount a fightback in the series decider at Warner Park.

Invited to bat first by the hosts, Bangladesh struggled with the bat, posting a modest total of 104 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti top-scored for Bangladesh with 33 runs off 43 balls. Only three other batters reached double figures: opener Dilara Akhtar contributed 21 runs from 16 balls, Murshida Khatun made 12 off 13 balls, and Taj Nehar scored 10 off 10 balls.

For the West Indies, Genelia Glasgow was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for just 15 runs in her 4 overs. Glasgow’s performance earned her the Player of the Match award.

In reply, West Indies found themselves in early trouble, with Bangladesh's bowlers making early break-through. Off-spinner Sultana Khatun dismissed opener Nerissa Crafton for just 7 runs in the second over. By the 12th over, Bangladesh had reduced the West Indies to 61/5, with half of their batting line-up back in the shed.

However, an unbroken sixth-wicket partnership between Shabika Ghaznabi (25 off 27 balls) and Zeida James (22 off 14 balls) took the West Indies home, as they reached 105/5 with 9 balls to spare, clinching the series 3-0.

Sultana Khatun and leg-spinner Fahima Khatun both took two wickets each for Bangladesh in a spirited bowling effort, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the clean sweep
