Today is Historical Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day
Today is the historic Homecoming Day of the greatest Bengali, the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On the night of March 25, 1971, the Pakistani occupation forces unleashed a brutal crackdown on unarmed Bengalis. On that fateful night, Bangabandhu was arrested by the invaders at his residence in Dhanmondi-32, Dhaka. Before his arrest, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the independence of Bangladesh, leading the nation to the path of freedom. He emerged as a valiant Bengali hero in the struggle for liberation.
After that, Bangabandhu was imprisoned for 290 days in Pakistan prison. After the establishment of independent, sovereign Bangladesh on December 16, 1971, the jubilant nation had only one concern. When will the undisputed leader of Bengali return to the country? The joy of Bengali victory was not complete without Bangabandhu.
On January 10, 1972, the architect of independent Bangladesh returned to the soil of independent Bangladesh via London and New Delhi. As the plane carrying Bangabandhu landed at Tejgaon Airport, lakhs of people thronged the streets of Dhaka that rainy afternoon. Everyone burst into tears. They were eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of the father of the nation. The slogans of 'Jai Bangla, Jai Bangabandhu' started shaking all around. Bangabandhu got off the plane and went straight to Suhrawardy Udyan.
With an enthusiastic and confident voice, Bangabandhu promised to rebuild the Bengali nation. The entire nation was excited by Bangabandhu's speech at that time. Bangabandhu's historic homecoming gave new inspiration to the nation to fulfill the victory and independence of the Bengali nation and Bangladesh.
Returning to the country, Father of the Nation Bangandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assigned himself to build Sonar Bangla with the responsibility of managing the newly independent state. During Bangabandhu's three-and-a-half-year rule, Bangabandhu pledged to rebuild the Bengali nation anew. Bangladesh established itself as a proud and prosperous nation on the global stage.. A war-torn nation embarks on the path of development and progress with renewed vigor. Bangabandhu government laid the foundation for progress in every field including education, culture, technology, infrastructure development, energy and electricity. On August 15, 1975, the brutal assassination of history, killed Bangabandhu and his family and stopped the progress of the nation.
After 21 years, Bangabandhu's daughter, Sheikh Hasina, was elected as the Prime Minister by the people's vote and once again took Bangladesh on the path of possibilities and prosperity. Digital Bangladesh has been established under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Smart Bangladesh will also succeed in achieving its goals. As long as Bangladesh exists, Bengali culture will exist; The sound of 'Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu' will flow in the blood cells of this nation.
According to BSS (Bangladesh news agency), on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's homecoming day, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages.
