Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) has urged all not to be misguided by rumours spreading through social media over the security of St. Martin’s island centering Myanmar's ongoing internal conflict near the island.
Postponed voting in 19 Upazilas underway today
Voting has commenced in the previously suspended 19 Upazila Parishads of the country. The polling began on Sunday (June 9) at 8 am and will continue uninterrupted until 4 pm.
4th Phase: Voting underway in 60 upazilas
The fourth phase of the upazila parishad elections are underway in 60 upazilas under 26 districts in the country on Wednesday.

The third phase of the sixth upazila parishad polls is underway in 87 upazilas across the country.
3 more upazila elections postponed
The third phase of the upazila parishad elections, scheduled for May 29, has seen the postponement of elections in three additional upazilas. The affected upazilas are Khaliajuri in Netrokona district, and Kachua and Faridganj in Chandpur district.
Polls in 19 upazilas suspended
Election Commission (EC) has postponed voting in 19 upazila due to the damage caused by Cyclone Remal.
Upazila poll: 37.57% voter turnout in second phase
The first phase of the poll was held in 139 upazilas on May 8 with 36.1 percent turnout which was the lowest in last 15 years.
Voting in second phase of upazila election going on
The EC has ordered the administration and the police to be alert for peaceful polling. Election officials have been instructed to stop the polls in any centre if there is any kind of irregularity.
2nd phase of Upazila Parishad polls on Tuesday
Voting will take place in 157 upazilas during the second phase on Tuesday (May 21). The voting will proceed uninterrupted from 8.00am to 4.00pm on that day. Elections will be held for the positions of chairman, general vice chairman, and reserved vice chairman in these upazilas.

According to TIB, 70 percent of the chairman candidates in the first phase election were businessmen, 67 percent vice chairman and 24 percent women vice chairman candidates were businessmen.
