After a pause of one day, students across the country have taken to the streets again for the third day to enforce their pre-announced 'Bangla Blockade' strike on Wednesday (July 10) also, demanding the reformation of 'unreasonable and discriminatory' quota system in all grades of government jobs.

As part of the ‘Bangla Blockade’, college and university students and job seekers of various educational institutions blocked various roads and railways across the country under the banner of 'Anti-discrimination Student Movement', apparently in a bid to press home their demand.

As a result, rail communication between Dhaka and rest of the country has been come to a halt, triggering immense sufferings for the commuters.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamalapur Railway Station thana Md Ferdous said, “Around 12:30 noon, agitating students put wood pellets on the rail tracks at Kawran Bazar rail gate and Mohakhali rail crossing, disrupti8ng the rail movement. We came here quickly after getting the news, so that no untoward incident happens.”

The OC said, "Due to the blockade of the railway line, the rail communication between Dhaka and rest of the country has been temporarily disrupted, but we are trying to resume train movement quickly.”

The agitating students said according to their pre-announced programme, the railway line has been blocked today. The movement will continue until the demands are met. They also said that the movement will gradually increase in speed.
