Donald Trump has moved closer to a potential victory over Kamala Harris, leaving the Democrat with only the narrowest of paths to thwart what could be a remarkable political comeback for the former president.

On election night, jubilant Trump supporters gathered at the Palm Beach County Convention Centre in Florida, anticipating an address from their candidate following crucial wins in the race for the White House. Attendees included men in formal suits and women in dresses, alongside dedicated fans proudly displaying Trump’s name on leather vests. Many sported the iconic red “Make America Great Again” baseball caps.

“I feel like Trump has won this election. This is over, and I feel like the world’s about to be much greater,” declared Moses Abraham, 22, as excitement filled the air.

Echoing this sentiment, Jo Ann Poly Calvo remarked, “This is like 2016. I feel that we are on the same path to win. I feel very optimistic about tonight. Donald Trump is the perfect fit for America.”

Florida has become a pivotal state for Trump, particularly as he navigates various legal challenges in New York. He maintains a residence at Mar-a-Lago, a Republican stronghold that serves as both his home and a members’ club.

While some attendees expressed anxiety about the tight race—Trump and Harris were locked in a close contest according to opinion polls—others were confident in a Republican victory. Rocco Talarico, 68, donned a “MAGA” cap and a leather vest inscribed with “Born to Ride” and “Donald Trump.” He voiced his belief that the country needs Trump’s leadership, citing issues such as border security, rising crime, and escalating prices for gas and food. “Kamala did nothing for four years,” he asserted.
