The Trump administration is preparing to announce an arms deal with Saudi Arabia worth over $100 billion during former President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Riyadh in May, according to a report by Reuters.

The deal, which involves several leading U.S. defense contractors, is seen as part of Washington’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with Gulf allies amid rising strategic competition with China.

Citing six informed sources, the report states that major U.S. defense firms—Lockheed Martin, RTX Corp (formerly Raytheon Technologies), Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and General Atomics—will be supplying a range of advanced military hardware. This includes transport aircraft, precision-guided missiles, cutting-edge radar systems, and surveillance drones.

A U.S. Department of Defense official underscored the significance of the U.S.-Saudi defense partnership: “Our defense relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is stronger than ever under President Trump’s leadership. Maintaining our security cooperation remains a key pillar of this partnership, and we will continue working with Saudi Arabia to meet their defense needs.”

Lockheed Martin is expected to provide C-130 transport aircraft along with missile systems and radar technology. General Atomics’ MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones are anticipated to be a major highlight of the deal—discussions surrounding the drone acquisition reportedly date back to 2018.

While Lockheed Martin confirmed that all foreign military sales occur through official government-to-government channels, it referred inquiries about specific arms packages for Saudi Arabia to the U.S. government.
