US President Donald Trump and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed a series of major agreements on Thursday, with projected deals totaling at least $120 billion, reports Al Jazeera.

The announcement came at the conclusion of Trump’s multi-country tour of the Gulf region.

The White House confirmed that the agreements cover a wide range of sectors, including defense, aviation, and infrastructure. Central to the deal is Qatar Airways’ plan to purchase over 100 Boeing aircraft, including 787 Dreamliners and 777X jets, valued at $96 billion. A letter of intent was also signed for a $38 billion investment in expanding Al Udeid Air Base and enhancing Qatar’s air defense systems.

“This visit marks a new height in US-Qatar relations,” Emir Tamim stated, hailing the economic and strategic partnership with Washington.

The leaders described the outcome of their talks as a “landmark agreement,” expressing hope that bilateral trade would now exceed $120 billion.

Trump was received with elaborate state ceremonies upon arriving in Doha from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. His trip, which includes stops in three Middle Eastern nations, has already produced several high-profile deals. Earlier in the week, Washington signed a $600 billion investment pact and $142 billion in arms sales with Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing in the region between U.S., Turkish, and Syrian officials regarding a potential shift in U.S. policy towards Syria, including the possible lifting of sanctions.

Trump is expected to return to the US via Abu Dhabi later on Thursday, although a planned visit to Turkey for trilateral talks on the Ukraine conflict remains uncertain.
