Tune of on the wane in Modi's camp
India's Lok Sabha elections started on April 19. Counting of votes started today after 47 days of election activities. Already, in the unofficial results, the ENDA coalition has secured 289 seats, the INDIA coalition has secured 235 seats, and the other 19 seats. The final result will be known by evening. Then it will be known whether BJP or Congress, NDA or India Alliance will win the Lok Sabha elections and take charge of the new government. At least 272 seats are required to get an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha.
In this election, there have been complaints like Hindu-Muslim division, reservation and citizenship law, arrest of opponents. And at the center of these allegations is Narendra Modi himself.
My readers will know that many people are angry with me because I have spoken against Narendra Modi. Behind the scenes, some may have said that I am so fiercely anti-Modi because I am a supporter of different politics. In fact I am not bothered about whether individual Narendra Modi, Amit Shah or other heavyweight BJP leaders are good or bad. I am strongly anti-Modi as I don't like the autocratic attitude
of his party.
Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh, abbreviated RSS, is the think tank of the BJP. RSS was born in 1925 in Nagpur, Maharashtra state, India. From the very beginning, the RSS has been ultra-communal, riotous. Their only role in the freedom movement was to patronize the British government.
The main objective of the RSS, not the English, was to poison the public mind against a particular community. This RSS, does not celebrate the independence day of the country even today. August 15 is not even mentioned in the list of their announced festivals. All the riots that have occurred since India's independence till date, the name of the Sangh Parivar has been associated with each of them in one way or another. I saw the Gujarat massacre with my own eyes. Even today, twenty-two years later, I shudder to think how RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal wreaked havoc all over Gujarat along with the administration.
Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat then. Gujarat was a kind of laboratory. As Narendra Modi's party later captured power in Delhi by integrating the majority community. That is the year 2014. That time, however, there was not much difference between the votes of the BJP and the opposition. The next time in 2019, Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister for the second time by using the conflict between the opposition parties and getting a huge majority. Ever since the election was announced, BJP's slogan was, ‘Apki Bar Charsho Par’.
That means BJP and its partner parties will win 400 seats. In fact, it is certain that Narendra Modi's sky-high arrogance is at the bottom. The whole picture will be clear in a day or two. But it can be said now that if Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister, his finger-pointing will be much less. Actually, it's our fault. We mistook the paper tiger for a tiger.
