Two Bangladeshis shot by BSF along Benapole border
Two Bangladeshis who was shot by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Benapole-Daulatpur border in Jashore.
The injured are identified as Dalim, 35, son of Barkat Ali, and Babu, 37, son of Din Islam of Daulatpur village under Putkhali union of Benapole.
Lieutenant Colonel Khurshid Anwar, commander of 21 Battalion BGB, said, "Some smugglers tried to enter India through the border on Tuesday night. At that time, the BSF fired rubber bullets at them, wounding Babu and Dalim. BGB members rescued them and took them into custody."
“The injured were rushed to the hospital for first aid. A case will be filed against them under the Anti-Trafficking Act," Khurshid Anwar added.
