Two Thai ministers meet CA on BIMSTEC sidelines

Thailand's Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) Barawut Silpa-Archa and Thailand's Minister of State for Social Development and Human Security Jiraporn Sindhuprai have met Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.

Their meeting took place on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday (April 3). During the meeting, they discussed various issues in a cordial atmosphere.

Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Abul Kalam Azad Majumder gave this information.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, Muhammad Yunus arrived in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, to attend the sixth BIMSTEC summit.

He arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand at 12:15 pm on Thursday. The Chief Adviser left Dhaka for Bangkok from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with his entourage at 8:55 am on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.

Dr. Yunus delivered a speech at the BIMSTEC Youth Generation Forum conference in Bangkok at 3pm local time. He will also participate in the BIMSTEC summit tomorrow, April 4.

During this visit, the chief adviser will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of BIMSTEC member states, including India. He will also be present at the signing ceremony of two MoUs during the BIMSTEC summit.

In addition, the first bilateral meeting of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus is going to be held on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC summit. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 3:45 pm Bangkok time on Friday.
