A United Nations fact-finding technical team has arrived in Dhaka to investigate human rights violations during the recent quota reform movement that ultimately led to the ouster of autocrat Sheikh Hasina. The three-member delegation reached Dhaka at midnight on Wednesday (21 August). The team is scheduled to visit Bangladesh for about a week. The delegation will go to the Foreign Ministry on Thursday (August 22) morning, to attend a scheduled meeting with Assistant Foreign Secretary Riaz Hamidullah. The three-member team headed by UN High Commissioner for Asia-Pacific Rory Mungoven will discuss the preliminary findings. They will finalize all the issues including the work flow, process&nbsp;and&nbsp;conditions.

বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলন ঘিরে মানবাধিকার লঙ্ঘনের ঘটনায় তদন্তের জন্য জাতিসংঘের তথ্য অনুসন্ধানের প্রাথমিক কারিগরি দল ঢাকায় পৌঁছেছে। তিন সদস্যের প্রতিনিধি দল বুধবার (২১ আগস্ট) মধ্যরাতে ঢাকা পৌঁছায়। প্রাথমিক কারিগরি দলটি বাংলাদেশে প্রায় এক সপ্তাহের সফর করার কথা রয়েছে। প্রতিনিধি দলটি আজ বৃহস্পতিবার সকালেই যাবে পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে। বৈঠক করার কথা রাষ্ট্রদূত রিয়াজ হামিদুল্লাহর সঙ্গে। তিনি বর্তমানে মন্ত্রণালয়ে সহকারী পররাষ্ট্র সচিব হিসেবে কাজ করছেন। প্রাথমিক তথ্যানুসন্ধানের বিষয়ে আলোচনার জন্য জাতিসংঘের হাইকমিশনার দপ্তরের এশিয়া-প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরীয় অঞ্চলের প্রধান রোরি মুঙ্গোভেনের নেতৃত্বে তিন সদস্যের দল। এ সময় ঢাকায় এসে অংশীজনদের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করে কাজের ধারা, প্রক্রিয়া, শর্তসহ সব বিষয় চূড়ান্ত করবে।
