Awami League has once again secured an uncontested victory in the national elections, winning all 222 seats in the January 7 polls.

In the final results announced by the Election Commission early Monday, it can be seen that the Jatiya Party in alliance with the Awami League won 11 seats with the plow symbol, the Workers Party won one seat with the boat symbol and the Kallyan Party won 1 seat with the watch symbol. Awami League president and current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to set a record by taking oath as Prime Minister for the fourth consecutive time through absolute victory.

With this, she will take charge as the Prime Minister for the fifth time. This is a unique record in the history of the country, exclusive to the daughter of Bangabandhu.

In Sunday's election, independent candidates outside the Awami League-led alliance secured 62 seats. The majority of these victorious independent candidates are primarily affiliated with Awami League as activists and supporters.

Several heavyweight candidates, including those nominated by the Awami League and other parties, have failed to secure victory in the current election. The notable figures include Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali nominated by Awami League, Jatiya Party (JP-Manju) Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju, Workers Party General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha, Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader's wife Sherifa Quader, Krishak Sramik Janata League President Quader Siddiqui and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President Hasanul Haque Inu.

After the announcement of the unofficial results, Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has directed her party activists and supporters not to bring out any victory procession.

She has also urged not to engage in any disputes with candidates and their supporters after the announcement of the election results.
