We don't know if Putin will congratulate Trump: Kremlin spokesperson

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that he was unaware of any plans by Russian President Vladimir Putin to congratulate Donald Trump, who has claimed victory in the US election.

"Let's not forget that we are talking about an unfriendly country that is directly and indirectly involved in a war against our state," he said, referring to US support for Ukraine, reports Reuters.

Peskov stated that relations with the United States were at a historic low, but the Kremlin remained open to dialogue and would assess the situation if Donald Trump returns to the White House in January.
