West Indies score 250 on Day 1, Bangladesh take 5 wickets
The first Test of the two-match series between Bangladesh and the West Indies began on Friday night at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. On day one, 84 overs were bowled, with the West Indies making 250 runs and Bangladesh claiming 5 wickets.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh captain Mehedi Hasan Miraz chose to field first, inviting the West Indies to bat. The hosts lost two wickets for just 25 runs, and the third wicket fell at 84 runs. Following that, Alick Athanaze and Mikyle Louis put together a solid 140-run partnership. However, both were dismissed in the 90s. Louis was out for 97 runs from 218 balls, while Athanaze was dismissed for 90 runs off 130 balls.
At stumps on day one, the West Indies were 250 for 5, with Justin Greaves on 11 and Joshua Da Silva unbeaten on 14. Bangladesh's pacer Taskin Ahmed took two wickets, while Taijul Islam and Miraz each claimed one.
