When Ramadan starts will be known Monday: Islamic Foundation
The Islamic Foundation said that it will be known on Monday evening when the upcoming month of Ramadan will start.
The National Moon Sighting Committee will sit on Monday (March 11) after Maghrib (6:30pm) prayer to review the news of the moon sighting of the month of Ramadan, says a press release sent to media by Islamic Foundation on Sunday (March 10).
According to the release, the meeting will be chaired by Md Faridul Haque Khan, minister for religious affairs and president of the committee, at the meeting room of the Islamic Foundation in Baitul Mukarram in the capital.
If the moon is sighted on Monday evening, the counting of the month of Ramadan will start from the next day (Tuesday) and Muslims will also start fasting from that day. In that case, Tarabi prayer will start on Monday night after Isha prayer and the Sehri will be eaten at late night.
On the other hand, if the moon is not sighted, the month of Ramadan will start from Wednesday. In this case, Tarabi prayer will start after Isha prayer on Tuesday and Sehri will be eaten on the last night.
