Why bathroom sink is in Elon Musk's hands?
After purchasing Twitter for $44 billion, Elon Musk entered the Twitter headquarters holding a bathroom sink. He posted a picture of himself on Twitter with the caption: "Let that sink in!"
This can be roughly translated into Bengali as: "Haven't you understood that!" which became a popular phrase after being used in the Bengali film Aynabaji, where actor Chanchal Chowdhury delivered the line in a similar context. Since then, this dialogue has become widely used by people in various situations.
Now, in the upcoming US Presidential election, Elon Musk has expressed his support for Republican candidate Donald Trump. Not only did he announce his endorsement, but he also actively participated in Trump's campaign and donated $11 crore 90 lakh for the election efforts.
The incident could have ended right there, but Elon Musk didn’t stop. He made an intriguing prediction that Trump would win this year’s election—and that prediction came true. Musk also pulled off another interesting stunt: after buying Twitter, he edited the infamous sink photo and posted it again, this time showing himself entering the White House holding the same sink. The caption remained the same: "Let that sink in!"
But what does this mean? Why did he create such a meme? And why did he suddenly involve himself so openly in politics? These questions have sparked a wave of speculation. Trump has called Musk the "new star of the Republican Party." Is Musk entering politics through Trump’s influence? Will he join Trump’s cabinet? Or is he using politics for his own business interests? Musk's Tesla company is heavily reliant on China, while SpaceX is primarily dependent on America. Could Musk be seeking to expand SpaceX under Trump’s leadership? Will he finally send humans to Mars?
These questions have ignited much discussion, and only time will reveal the full scope of Musk's political ambitions and strategic moves.
