WI legend DJ Bravo retires from all forms of cricket

Former West Indies legend all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket during the Caribbean Premier League.

The 40-year-old, suffering from a groin injury, declared on Instagram, "My mind wants to keep going, but my body can no longer endure the pain."

Bravo concludes his career as the leading wicket-taker in T20 history, with 631 wickets at an average of 24.40 and an economy rate of 8.26 runs per over.

He won three IPL titles with Chennai Super Kings and two T20 World Cups with the West Indies.

Bravo played 40 Tests and 164 One Day Internationals for the West Indies before retiring from international cricket in 2021. During his career, he scored 2,200 runs and took 86 wickets in Test matches, amassed 2,968 runs and claimed 199 wickets in ODIs, and recorded 1,255 runs and 78 wickets in 91 T20Is.

He will now take on a mentor role with IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders.
