Minister of Health and Family Welfare Samanta Lal Sen said there will be zero tolerance on the quality of hospital services.

He came up with the remarks at a press conference organized on various contemporary issues related to health in the conference room of the ministry on Sunday (February 25).

Samant Lal Sen said, "Some recent issues are being discussed about the health sector across the country. The events will shake the mind of any person. The Prime Minister has asked me to take strong initiative on the matter. The Prime Minister has asked me to maintain zero tolerance in this regard.”

He said, "I will unequivocally follow the instructions of the Prime Minister. I want to say clearly, that we do not want to close the legitimate private hospital-clinic-diagnostic centers, but to run them, there should be as many doctors, and nurses as necessary; Ensure that all equipment is available. If that is not done, I will maintain zero tolerance to take strict action.”

The Health Minister said, "All these illegal or unequipped clinics/diagnostic centers will not be kept operational without any request or lobbying. We have closed about 1227 illegal clinics/diagnostic centers in one month, the operation is still going on. Let us also say that action will be taken against legitimate health centers if they do not have enough manpower and equipment."
